Versatile in both contemporary and historically inspired design, Fifield Piaker Elman Architects has converted landmark buildings for multi-family housing, created signature retail and institutional environments, designed high-end apartment interiors and private residences, and renewed high-rise buildings.
We bring an energized approach to architecture. Enjoying the challenges that come with providing the best solution, we know that the finest responses are collaborations with our clients and consultants. But the ultimate testament to the quality of our design — and our ability to work within real world construction budgets and time constraints — is a significant roster of repeat clients. Three out of four clients return with new projects.
Founded in 1982 and working within the tri-state area, FPE offers skilled teams, led personally by one of our four principals, John Fifield, David Piaker, Mark Elman and Jason Dumond. Often involved in transforming historic buildings, we may insert a new design within an existing environment or restore significant buildings and interiors. Clients appreciate our technical experience in integrating new building systems with existing base systems, and phasing the work to accommodate tenancies during construction.
We are the recipient of the New York State Association of Architects Award for Design Excellence and the BOMA Renovated Building of the Year, and our projects have been published in The New York Times, Interior Design, Real Estate Weekly, Architectural Record, The Real Estate Journal, Contract Design, and New York Magazine.
