Originally constructed as the 12th Ward Bank Building in 1893, 145 East 125th Street most recently served as the Salvation Army Headquarters in Harlem. Strategically located at the 125th Street and Lexington Avenue subway station, the rejuvenated masonry building joins other 125th Street developments in revitalizing the neighborhood.
In designing a new modern office lobby, FPE’s scope of work included structurally lowering the building lobby floor to street level, for better access and higher ceilings. The project included installation of a second elevator and shaft, enlargement of rooftop elevator machine room, and design of new building core at each floor.
The new lobby features a stainless-steel entrance with automatic sliding doors, large gauge white porcelain tile flooring and walls with slatted wood and stainless-steel detailing.
